The Importance of Hydration

Water composes 75% of your brain and muscles, 22% of your bones, and makes up 83% of your blood. Water also helps to regulate your body temperature, removes waste, helps convert food to energy, moistens oxygen for breathing, helps your body absorb nutrients, and cushions and protects your joints and vital organs.

One major cause of fatigue and weakness is dehydration. Thus, proper hydration helps maintain clear thinking and better concentration. Not only will it reduce fatigue; consuming enough water hydrates your skin, diminishes the appearance of wrinkles, and flushes toxins out of your body.

And last, but certainly not least, staying hydrated ensures that your organs will work optimally. Water consumption increases metabolism, allowing you to burn more fat. If your body is in a state of dehydration, it restricts the amount of oxygen in your blood stream. And, when your body lacks sufficient amount of oxygen in your blood stream, it limits the amount of fat that your body will utilize when called upon. SO, WHY AREN’T YOU DRINKING UP?

In order to stay in a state of super hydration daily, you should drink 70% of your body weight in ounces of water.
